Grandpa Bruce

This is the last picture that we have with Bruce Halloween 2007.

Landons Grandpa Bruce has been sick for a while now, and over the past few months he has been getting worse. We didn't know how bad until the night we left for St. Johns. Landons parents called us and told us that we should probably go see him before we went out of town because they had called Hospice to come in, and weren't sure how much time he had left. So we took all the kids to his grandparents house, and Landon and I went and saw his Grandpa, and we felt good about our visit. His grandpa was sleepong and heavily medicated, but it was good to seehim one last time. We dropped the kids off at his parents house, and headed to the airport to take the red eye to Atlanta then to St. Johns. When we landed in St Johns Landon turned on his phone and there was a text saying that his Grandpa died that night. We couldn't believe it we thought that he might pass away while we were gone but we were hoping that we would be able to make it back for the funeral.We arried in St. Johns on Friday, and the funeral was set for Tuesday. The problem was that Delta only flew out of St. Thomas on Monday and Wednesday's and to change the flight it would be $1700.00 per ticket. So needless to say we missed the funeral. Had we been closer to home we would have been able to make it work, but being so far away it just wasn't possible. We felt so bad and heard that the service was beautiful. We went to visit Landons Grandma when we got home and went to the cemetary. So we were glad to see where his Grandpa was buried. We will miss him.
